• • Comments About the Book • • Hello Janice! I
just got the book, and it's fantastic so far! Thanks for creating this
wonderful resource. I also agree that dressage riders should take the
time to make themselves as fit as they are trying to make their horses.
Pilates has improved my riding SO much (even though, like many of us,
I have a long way to go). I have read the book,
and I must say I love it! Janice makes the connection between the body(movement)
of the rider and that of the horse very clear, in a an way that's easy
to understand! I have to say that the book definitely opened my eyes
to issues between me and my horse, and I am sure that's what it can
do for a lot of readers. So I am very into my Pilates exercises now
;-) I am reallly going to recommand the book to our readers. The book is wonderful
and I am now a pilates enthusiast. It is wonderful. The owner of where
I board my wonderful 9 year old Lipizzaner mare and I have been taking
semi-private lessons for quite a while now and we both love it. I didn't
understand what an absolute total body workout pilates was until experiencing
it first hand.
... my horse Vanilla Ice when we were clerk of the coursing at the races. I also used to do dressageand eventing with him. He was a gentle giant.
Thank you for your email, got your book and absolutely love it. It has been very benefical to my students, and to myself also. It has really made them realise how important the inner core is to riding and because of that there posture is improving all the time. Thank you again Regards, Dianne George Western Australia Hello, I just loved your article in the USDF Connection. I was wondering if your book is somewhat like the article? The way you explain how to use your body for the movements is wonderful. I think that is very helpful. Thanks, Lissa Corso Region 4 Janice, Yes, I did get the book and it is great! I think pilates helps me wtih riding more than any other outside activity.I wish you luck with your book! Lynda Goodfriend |
• • Comments About the Clinics• • Ruth and Nancy (trainers)
were both impressed. Funny but when I explained to Ruth what you focused
on with me she emphatically poo pooh'd it.
So I asked Ruth what muscles she suggested I use, if not those and
she said do not use muscles! ;^) HOWEVER when I did use the gluts
and scooped the belly based on the little bit of training I got from
you, she was raving. Absolutely raving! I felt like I stepped onto
the next rung of the skill ladder. Great feeling! Thanks! Hey Janice, We all enjoyed having you. I have always encouraged my riders to work out besides riding. But Pilates just takes body awareness to a new level of performance and strength. It helped me to be able to watch how you applied the concepts. Now the book makes
even more sense. Fran (Romana’s
Pilates certified instructor) also has a better understanding about
what we need as riders
she is great. We would love to have you again. I need to get a few more riders
in the studio. But I try to Thanks So much |
